Materials Characterisation Unit

This Unit covers:

Techniques include: GC, GCMS, FTIR, ATR, DSC, TGA, TGA-FTIR, TLC, NMR, HPLC, IC, ICP, GPC, SEM, TEM, OM, STEM.

Analysis of leachable and extractable materials from rubber and plastic materials used in industries
  such as pharmaceutical, packaging and foodstuffs where products have to meet regulatory or in-house specifications.
  Current problem areas include PNAs, nitrosamines and phthalates.

Tyre Oil Compliance with REACH requirements (ISO 21461).

Method development to meet regulatory body requirements including validation and documentation.

Product failure/off-spec analysis.

Chemical analysis of polymer products and compounds to determine their composition.

Representation on British, European and International standards bodies; areas of work involving standards
   include medical gloves, latex and the chemical testing of rubber dies.

RAPRA approved laboratory.
