TARRC's Rubber Consultants successfully exhibited its services for the first time at RubberCon 2014 from 14th-15th May 2014, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Manchester Airport, UK. Three papers and two posters were presented at the conference by TARRC scientists, Dr Pamela Martin, Dr Anna Kepas-Suwara, Dr David Lowe and Judith Picken and Dr Alan Muhr, respectively. Details are shown in the Conference Programme. If you have any questions or would like to contact the authors then please feel free to email them. Dr Pamela Martin, one of TARRC’s speakers commented on the conference, ‘RubberCon 2014 was well attended with over 200 delegates. Papers were spread out across 3 parallel sessions running across the two days with themes centred on materials development, modelling, smart elastomer devices and recycling. These sessions covered a diverse range of topics from developments in tyre technology to emerging 3D-printing applications and carbon nanotubes to mention but a few. TARRC was well represented by staff from our Advanced Materials Product Development and Engineering Units and three papers and two posters were given with a significant number of delegates choosing to hear about our work into Ekoprena tyre treads, AM-FM AFM studies of polymer blends and Organoclays in NR. The range of topics, techniques covered, discussions and exchange of ideas gave TARRC attendees stimulus for thought which can be related back to advance their own research and open up the possibility for some future collaborations’. David Cawthra from TARRC and RC's Market Development & Promotion Unit added, 'It was a great experience to be involved with RubberCon 2014 and to meet so many people dedicated to the rubber industry. Attracting over 220 delegates to Manchester demonstrates the growing confidence in this sector and we were delighted to meet new potential clients requiring our expertise as well as catching up with existing customers. The main IRC will return to the UK in 2019 where it will be held in London'. Rubber Consultants also had an exhibition stand highlighting its wide range of analytical services including: product failure analysis, extractables and leachables testing, contamination issues and component QC testing, nitrosamines, MBT and PAH testing. We also have excellent tyre testing capabilities, state-of-the-art biotechnology facilities, expertise in rubber engineering design and testing for the automotive and industrial sectors. These range from small automotive mounts and bushes through anti-seismic devices to large marine fenders and much more.... |
