Malaysian Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities visits TARRC
TARRC welcomes the visit of YB Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui

TARRC welcomed the first visit of YB Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, the Malaysian Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities to Brickendonbury on Thursday 10th March 2005.

On arrival Salleh Subari, Head of the Industry Development and Promotion Division, greeted both the Minister and Datuk Abdul Hamid Sawal, Director General of the MRB, who was accompanying the Minister on his visit to TARRC.

The Minister was then briefed by both Dr Andrew Tinker, Director of Research, and Datuk Abdul Hamid Sawal, who is also the Chairman of the TARRC Board, on the role of TARRC and the joint activities with the MRB. The Minister will be making another visit to TARRC some time in June for a laboratory tour when he is next in the UK.

There was then a presentation of a crystal clock to thank the Minister for his visit, aswell as a tree planting ceremony that took place on the east side of the mansion.

Before leaving the Minister signed the Visitor's book writing; 'My heartiest congratulations to the Centre. I have had a very fruitful discussion with the Management and please continue your good work'.
